With the usual wedding jitters, you are always wondering what could go wrong.  So, at Kira's urging, we got room reservations early at the Villagio Inn and Spa in Napa Valley.  We specifically chose it because there were no large groups there, and there were two other hotels nearby.

We sent our pre-wedding information to all the guests, and the reservations started coming in.  We thought we were set.

Unfortunately, in December, Chris received a call from the general manager of the Villagio.  This could only mean one thing -- something went wrong.  It turns out that the Villagio had double-booked us with the V Foundation, a non-profit foundation.  Over the course of the conversation, it became clear that we had two choices:

  • Continue to stay at the Villagio with the V Foundation.  There would be about 20 of us and 150 of them.  And they were having a party on Friday night with a live band and drinks, which was expected to run late.
  • Move to the nearby Vintage Inn, run by the same organization.

The manager was incredibly embarrassed and offered to make it up to us.  We worked it out, and now have everyone moved over to the Vintage Inn.
